It appears the former Alberta health minister has been a board member of the Catholic health services giant since Dec 2023, but this information was not publicly announced.

In fact, his bio on the Covenant site was only discovered by journalists inadvertently.

[…] the Roman Catholic Church owned, publicly financed health care organization, [is] Alberta’s second largest provider of health services.

There has been no press release from Covenant Health announcing the appointment, which given Mr. Shandro’s performance in office is bound to be highly controversial.
