Alberta Energy System Operator noted it was “the coldest we’ve had and there were three large generators that were offline.”
Thanks to Lethbridge and all Albertans for pulling together as a community and keeping our electrical grid up when it’s under such tremendous stress. Surely this record low won’t be repeated in the next 4 months, and the definitely-AESO-request to pause renewable energy supply can only help.
The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) has issued a Grid Alert for the province.
Where possible, please reduce power consumption to help ease the stress on the grid. For more information, please head to AESO's website 👉https://t.co/pjRVzvtMbo#yql #GridAlert pic.twitter.com/UDzrKZMLQH
