Danielle Smith had previously asserted the pause was at the request of the Alberta Electric System Operator – but this is untrue.
Initially, the Premier has insisted her actions were at the request of the AESO:
This is a really important read by my pal @DrewPAnderson. Made all the more π₯ when you re-watch the video from the press conference in which Smith doubles down on the AESO asking for the renewables pause. Here, Iβve clipped it for you π #ableg #cdnpoli pic.twitter.com/N9uhBd12lp

Asked at a press conference to clarify, Danielle Smith recounts that when asked a general question about a more reliable grid, 5 employees nodded.
Today Smith was asked about her blatant lies about AESO asking for the renewables pause…
Her response?
"Ok, look, maybe it wasn't AESO, but this one time I did a tour & asked 5 technicians if the power grid would work better if it was more stable & they all nodded"#abpoli pic.twitter.com/hiPxxtNISt
