According to paperwork inadvertently obtained via FOIP request by public interest lawyer Drew Yewchuck back in 2019, AHS does not permit so called “gender-affirming surgeries” on patients under 18 years of age, and hasn’t since at least 2012.
I have FOI records showing that as of December 2019, Alberta health policy did not allow top surgery for minors. So the number is likely to be zero unless they changed the requirements after 2019. pic.twitter.com/PCws0zFfuB
