Alberta Public Safety and Emergency Services Minister Mike Ellis issued a statement for National Police Week promoting changes made by the Alberta government and criticising federal policies generally.
In return, the National Police Federation released their own statement calling the week time for formal recognition of bravery and service, with Minister Ellis’s politicization of the event “politicized and demeaning”.
