UCP candidate Zulkifl Mujahid originally won the Fort-Mac / Wood Buffalo nomination late last year. In a statement, the UCP write:
Mr. Mujahid has been named in legal matters that will be ongoing during the writ period. These matters arose after his nomination process […] To allow him the ability to focus on addressing these issues, Mr. Mujahid will no longer be our candidate in Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo.
In addition to being sued for defamation, Mujahid appears to be the subject of a restraining order filed earlier this month. This makes him the fourth of Danielle Smith’s potential candidates to exit the race before the election.
